Status: Fixed since September 2026
How to recognise it
A shipment whose bill of lading or booking field held a word such as PENDING, or a run of the same character such as 000000, showed a container, vessel or ETA that had nothing to do with it.
Which shipments this affects
Shipments whose bill of lading or booking field held a note or filler instead of a real number. It only showed with carriers that keep dummy records under such references. Bills and bookings that contain digits and are not one repeated character were not affected.
Cause
Some carriers keep dummy records under placeholder references such as PENDING or 000000, and answer them as if they were real shipments.
What changed
Dockflow no longer asks carriers about a bill of lading or booking that contains no digits or is one character repeated. Searches already scheduled for such references are stopped.
Is past data corrected?
No. The fix applies to new events; earlier events keep their original wording.
How to check your shipment
Compare the container, vessel and ETA on the shipment with your own booking. If they do not match, follow the step below. Keep notes out of the reference fields, and enter the real number as soon as you have it.
Do you need to do anything?
If a shipment still shows a container that is not yours, delete it and keep re-adding blocked, then enter the real bill of lading or booking.
