Cartama in Spain can arrive with the code of a town in Valencia

Status: Fixed since June 2026

How to recognise it
A shipment from southern Spain could show Carlet, in Valencia province, as a stop. The route around it made no sense from that place, and the carrier’s own page named Cartama instead.

Which shipments this affects
Maersk shipments with a leg that starts in Cartama, in Malaga province, where the location arrives with the code ESCRT.

Cause
Maersk sends the location code ESCRT together with the name Cartama. ESCRT is the valid code for Carlet, about 700 km away, and Cartama has no code of its own.

What changed
Dockflow now shows this location as Malaga, code ESAGP, which is the nearest port with a code of its own.

Is past data corrected?
No. The fix applies from that month on; earlier data stays as it was.

How to check your shipment
Open the shipment and check that the leg reads Malaga rather than Carlet. If it still shows Carlet, contact support with the reference.

Do you need to do anything?
Nothing.
