How to recognise it
A shipment whose HMM bill of lading was entered with the letters HDMU in front showed no carrier updates. The same bill entered without HDMU tracked normally.
Which shipments this affects
HMM shipments tracked by bill of lading, when the number was stored with HDMU in front. Bills stored without HDMU were not affected, and neither were shipments tracked by container number.
Cause
HMM only recognises a bill of lading in its bare form, without its HDMU carrier code in front.
What changed
Dockflow now removes the HDMU code from the front of an HMM bill of lading before asking HMM, so both ways of writing it track. HMM container numbers, which also start with HDMU or HMMU, are left as they are.
Is past data corrected?
No. The fix applies to new events; earlier events keep their original wording.
How to check your shipment
Open the shipment and check that carrier events appear while it is active. You can also look the bill up on HMM’s own tracking page, using the number without HDMU. If HMM shows the shipment and Dockflow stays empty, send support the shipment reference.
Do you need to do anything?
Nothing. Both ways of writing the number are correct, so you do not need to change how you send it.
