Why do I see different arrival times for the same container?

You can see three arrival times for one container, and all three can be right.

  • Terminal - the berth ETA. The moment the vessel moors.
  • Carrier - often a “Final Destination Hub” time, meaning the container is available after discharge. The same carrier screen can list an earlier time for the port of discharge.
  • Dockflow - the estimate held for the event shown in the tradeflow.

Nothing here is contradictory. Berthing, discharge and container availability are three points on the same timeline, hours or days apart.

In the tradeflow, hover over a date that carries the Predicted label. You get the history per source. That is the fastest way to see where a number came from.

Example
A terminal shows the berth ETA, the carrier shows a final destination hub time, and Dockflow shows its estimate for the event in the tradeflow. These are separate points on one timeline. Hovering over the Predicted date shows the history per source.
